A Holly Vault Wedding

Before moving out to the Owosso / New Lothrop area in 2017, I lived in Fenton and still have so much love for Genessee County. Getting to come back to my old stomping grounds for a wedding at The Holly Chapel and The Holly Vault was such a pleasure. Just as their names suggest, these venues are nestled downtown Holly surrounded by so many beautiful spots for shopping, eating and, of course, photo opps.

The Holly Vault has a large space perfect for getting ready before the ceremony. The big open space made things feel comfortable with plenty of room for a larger group.

The chapel is bright, simple, elegant and beautiful.

I found out the day of Danielle + Justin’s wedding that there was a Lord of the Rings event happening right in front of the venue, along Battle Alley. This brought us both excitement and nerves when that had been the location we intended to visit after the ceremony for bridal portraits. We held out a little longer than planned before venturing down the alley when the crowds died down to not only have the perfect light, but also a musician sitting in the middle of the alley who played them the most beautiful love songs to dance to in private. Let this be an example that even with a structured, well organized timeline things still happen. But.. going into change with patience and some grace can present an even better opportunity than what was planned before. Weddings have a lot of moving parts and being able to navigate them on a whim and accept change with a smile is what us wedding photographers should be prepared for. Instead of looking at the change with stress, it ended up being one of the most memorable moments of our day. We started at Seven Lakes State Park then made our way back downtown.

Thanks for sharing your love story with me, Danielle + Justin!
